February 22

Does it seem at time we have Jesus in a box? We wake up in the mornings with eagerness to have our quiet time in hope to start the day right! But, when we leave the house we grab our Jesus and put him in a box so we can take him everywhere we go.

During the day we stop at a red light and see a homeless person begging for food. Before we do a thing, we grab our Jesus out of the box so he can see we are about to give food to the homeless. Then, the light turns green and we start heading somewhere we probably shouldn't be heading. So before we get there we put our Jesus back in the box so he can't see what were about to do.

In today's readying in Psalms 39:4-5 it says, "Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered- how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath."

Lets remember that our time here on earth is short. Lets not be caught at the end of the line with our Jesus in a box. May we go out into this world with Jesus by our side. Showing him off like a new pair of shoes.

  1. Even though you love those shoes, you'll ALWAYS run into someone who doesn't like 'em. They may even hate your shoes. A total lack of taste, on their part, no doubt. Unfortunately, some of them may be friends of your. It will be moments like these that will test your faith, Bret. Will you change into something more comfortable or stand firm in your love and faith in the Lord? Stand tall, Bret! YOU CAN DO IT!
