April 12

"Work hard to enter the narrow door to God's Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Lord, open the door for us!' But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from.' Then you will say, 'But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' And he will reply, 'I tell you, I don't know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil." -Luke 13:24-27

How can we think that we will enter the Kingdom of God by being CEOs(Christmas, Easter, Occasionally going to church)? God longs for a personal relationship with us! We can't just fall in love with someone and get married and expect to have a wonderful marriage for the rest of our peachy lives. A marriage takes work, communication and eagerness to please one another. Our God is a jealous God. When we don't talk to Him, or give up our lives for him, He becomes stranded, just like a marriage will break apart.

God says if you want to become a disciple, then give up your life and carry your cross. Why are we not? Its not like we can take all our earthly treasures with us to heaven. So lets throw away our things and become Men of God!
