One day Jesus said to his disciples, "There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting! It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin. So watch yourselves! If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive." - Luke 17:1-4
Much easier said than done, right? We are surrounded by people in our lives that tempt us everyday to do something we know is wrong. I know for myself that I have my good days and bad days. Many days I can stand up for what is right and say no, but other days the temptation seems so far better doing than not. Two, we are surrounded by others who do wrong to us but later repent and ask for forgiveness. And it's so hard not to turn a shoulder and block them out of your lives instead of offering forgiveness.
From the beginning, God tells us that life is going to be hard, that we will be tempted all the time. Jesus says in 1 Corinthians 10:12-13, "So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."
Stand strong for Christ and forgive others, for at one point we all will sin and need forgiveness.
