Day 4 in Africa
Another beautiful day in Africa! It's a little strange though, always thought Africa was nothing but hot and dry...but not now because it's their rainy season. So it had rained all night and the clouds are still lingering which makes a beautiful setting when walking out of our tents.
While heading towards the Hobbs House of Hope to spend another amazing day with the children, a huge truck filled with chickens was stuck on the road. Now, the roads in Africa are not like back at home. They are very narrow with very little amounts of pavement. You could pretty much say there is no pavement, just dirt. So a lot of rain + dirt + narrow road = we are not going far. After awhile a tractor shows up and pulls the truck out so that we can be on our way.
After another great day with the kids, the time had came to say good bye(if you didn't noticed but I skipped telling you how the day went with the kids because I can't find the words to say that will even come close to describing what we felt. you will have to just go to Africa to find out for yourself). So again because of all the rain, our bus can't make the short trip from the high way to the house. So....we have to walk! But to our surprise, all the kids walked with us to the bus! It was so cool! Again I can't find the words to say describing how special that moment was. After all the good byes and tears cried, we headed back to our little tents to find out that we had no more electricity! I don't think anybody really cared though, all we wanted was our beds to lay in and to fall asleep.
4 days down with 6 more to come. I'm not sure if my emotions can handle it. But can't stop now, because we are in AFRICA!
