Day 1,2,3 in Africa

6 hour drive to Dallas, 10 hour plane ride to London with 45 minute delay due to volcano ash, 8 hour flight to Kenya, and 1 very bumpy hour drive to Ostrich farm to complete our journey! WOW, I sure didn't realize that just getting to Africa would be a journey in itself!

After a very short but restful night in our tents at the Ostrich farm, we make our way to Hobbs House of Hope where all the children were waiting patiently outside with welcoming signs and joyful songs. Then, once all the beautiful singing was finished, the children came running towards us with open arms and eagerness to show us around.

After all the welcoming and a quick bite to eat, the rest of the day was filled with gifts, playing with stickers, running around with 5 little ones on your back, more gifts, and posing for all the flashing cameras(which they LOVED doing). When the day was coming to an end, we all felt a little said leaving. Even though we knew we were coming back the next day. It was hard to believe that in just one day we could fall in love so much with the children that we couldn't spend one night away.

While lying in bed that night, I couldn't stop thinking about the kids. Wondering how they could welcome us so openly and pour out their hearts to us after all the be trail and abandonment they have suffered in the past.

So who am I...whenever I think back to my child hood and say that I had it bad.
