February 8

Matthew 26:6-13 Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon.....a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured if over his head. The disciples were indignant when they saw this. "What a waste!" they said. "It could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor." But Jesus, aware of this, replied, "Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me? You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.....I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman's deed will be remembered and discussed."

How awesome is this, a woman with very little to her name but a single bottle of perfume. Once in the presence of Jesus she pours the entire bottle on his head to prepare his body for burial. I was told that this bottle of perfume was not just any bottle of perfume, it was the Rolex of watches!

It seems like I'm blogging about the same thing every night. Jesus is always telling us to go into the world and spread the good news. To give it all up for the Kingdom of God. So how many times do we have to read it til we finally get up and do something?
