A friend and I were remodeling a lady's bedroom closet. We worked all day and got a lot accomplish but just didn't get it all complete. The next day after work we ran real quick back to the lady's house to finish what was left. Then what turned into a fifteen minute job turned into a two hour job; and the worst thing about it was we didn't even finish! Instead of going to our shop after work to get what tools we needed, we just looked to see what we could find in the truck that would get us by. But low and behold, we just couldn't get the job done because we didn't have the right tools to begin with.
Once I got back home to my family, I couldn't even talk to them because I was so frustrated! After a few moments of stomping around and punching some pillows I began to think. Doesn't this happen to us all the time but not with work but with discipleship. We think if we go to church and pray then we are ready to go out into the world and disciple to others or even just walking the walk. The truth of the matter is that church and praying is great, but the tools of the bible can get us through so much. Life is tough already as it is, don't make it even harder by not having the right tools. Keep reading with me, before too long we will be a professional disciple.
So don't jump too soon without your tool...or impact drill.
